Roaming Around A Pure Planet
I’m All About Healthy Eating, Exercise, Green Living & Responsible Travel
If you’re into one or all of the above, we’re going to get along real well.
I’ve been roaming our planet for just over 28 years and whilst I’ve seen some amazing things, had some incredible experiences and made lots of special friends, my bucket list is forever getting longer.
When I’m not doing yoga, meditating on the beach, in transit or hunting out the healthiest places to eat in far-flung destinations like Thailand, Peru and India, you can find me writing about all of the above.
I do hope you can take something positive away from my blog and my hope is to connect with you all at some point should our paths cross.
Crafting- A Relaxing Mental Break
Our day to day lives are often filled with stress. Deadlines to meet at work, children to run to after school activities, chores around the home to deal with, and even errands to deal with. With all that we have going on at any given time, it can make us feel as though we have no time for ourselves. This is where crafting comes in for many people. Late at night when all has settled, they may seal themselves up in a room or a corner and enjoy crafting. It is a relaxing mental break that is much deserved by all!
Importance of Crafting
The Things You Can Create
There are numerous crafts that you can take part in. There is painting, sewing, knitting, crochet, and many other types of projects that involve thread and needles. If this does not appeal to you, you can take up woodworking or the hobby of refinishing old furniture to make it new again. The great thing about crafting is that it is what ever you need for it to be. If you have an old coffee table that you feel looks abused, then you can refinish it in an evening. A little creativity can turn it into a one of a kind piece that all who see it will talk about. You can even use epoxy to create artwork on a table top. You can use acrylic material to create castings which you will then set on your mantle. There are no rules and no limit to the beautiful things that you can create while “de-stressing” at the end of a long, hard day.
Let Your Imagination Soar
If you are unsure what type of crafting project will be a good, relaxing project for you to enjoy, you can always search the internet. There are numerous crafting sites that tell you how to paint, how to use woodworking tools, and even how to take up knitting. Even if you are only sitting on the couch watching a movie while creating friendship bracelets out of string, you will still be relaxing. There are numerous ways to express your creativity and give your imagination a space to roam free. If you have an interest in something, give it a try. We do not think that you will be disappointed by the results of your efforts. Just remember that even an imperfect craft is better than no crafting projects at all.
Float Therapy: Worth the Hype?
If you could relax your worries away, relieve the pain that you may be feeling, and enjoy a fuller night’s sleep; would you do it? There is a new type of therapy that promises to do just that. It is fun, it is relaxing, and it is effortless. This therapy is called floatation therapy and many people wonder if it is truly worth the hype.
What is Float Therapy?
Where to Find Float Pods
Float pods are the tanks that allow you to relax in complete nothingness. They hold only about ten inches of salt water, so many people can go to sleep in the tank. The temperature of the water is maintained and the same temperature as your body. In fact, the air and water around you are all the same temperature so that you feel no discomfort at all when you are inside. Many spas offer them and there are places you can go that are devoted to float therapy. These dark, soundless chambers have begun to show up all over the world in the last five years, so you can find them anywhere. They aren’t much to look at though, because they are supposed to be simply you and nothing but your mind. They are simply rounded pods that have a door. On the outside, you may have an outdoor towel holder and dim lights to prepare your eyes for total darkness inside the pod.
Can You Float Anywhere?
Most people ask whether float therapy can be effective in their pool, a lake, or even a bathtub. The answer to this question is, “not really”. You can float outside of the pod and it can be relaxing. You can allow the water to cover your ears and you can listen to the sound of your breathing, but the overall experience is not the same. You will have sunlight on your face, a temperature variation, and you will not be able to get into the same deeply relaxed state. In those areas, you must stay alert enough to keep yourself on the top of the water. In a pod, you will never go under water, there will never be waves to disturb you, and you will feel nothing but a peaceful nothingness.
Rest & Relaxation at the Lake
In life, we are all running around and going nowhere very fast. We all take part in our type of rat race. Whether you are a mom who is raising kids or a working soul that seems to spend long days at the office, stress and frustration over all the things you have to do can seem endless. It often seems that we spend our days doing the same old things and then have to get up in the morning to do it all over again. Is that really how you feel life should be? Is it the way you expected it to be when you were a child looking at the world and seeing nothing but potential? Most likely the answer to that is, “No.” We say, “It can be” with just a little rest and relaxation at the lake.

Enjoy Breathing Easier for Awhile
When you spend a weekend away from real life, you will get a new perspective on your life. There are some people who venture out into the wilderness, next to a body of water and decide that they do not want to spend the rest of their life doing the paper chase that they call a job. It may spark your creative mind or help you fall more in love with the family that you spend your days taking care of. Perhaps all you need to stop going in circles is to step outside of your box and rediscover the carefree person that you once were. We think you will like what you find when you are there. You just have to be willing to rejuvenate your mind and body.
